Lake Frederick is a popular destinantion in Virginia. The Oxbridge group looked at the are around the lake and decided it would be a great location for it’s premier gated retirement community, Shenandoah. the community has 942 acres of land with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains, miles of trails through the local woodlands, and access to the lake for great boating and fishing.

This natural lake offers an abundance of fish including Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Red Ear sunfish, Black Crappie, Channel Catfish, Walleye and Northern Pike. Dock and boat access throughout the community. If you don’t own a boat there are numerous public fishing piers.

The lakeside pavilions along the miles of hiking trails provide endless possibilities for picnics or watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the lake.

Lake Fredrick and the surrounding towns offer many activities that can be enjoyed at the local parks, museums and wineries. There are six public golf courses within minutes of the community. The nation’s capital Washington DC is only an hour and a half away by car.

With an age restriction of 55 or older, you are sure to find like minded people and forge new friendships with other residents. Children are allowed to visit, but no one’ or younger is allowed to reside in the community permanently.
