I have a total debt of $25,000 in student loans & credit card debt. My bi-weekly income is around $1,700, however, with paying alimony and other living expenses, I don’t have any money left to pay off the debt and the credit collection agencies are after me. Open Question: Daily Interest Compounded Monthly with Weekly Repayments Formula?
Is there a formula for the loan balance where interest is calculated daily and compounded monthly for a loan where you are making weekly repayments?
For example
Loan Amount: $300,000
Interest Rate: 6% per year
Repayments: $500 per week
End of Week 1: $299,500 ($346.15 interest on $300,000 for 1 week)
End of Week 2: $299,000 ($345.57 interest on $299,500 for 1 week)
End of Week 3: $298,500 ($345.00 interest on $299,000 for 1 week)
End of Week 4: $299,381.15 ($344.42 interest on $298,500 for 1 week)
So at the end of the first month the loan balance is $299,381.15
Using the standard formula 300000(1+(0.06/52))^4 ? (500/(0.06/52))[(1+(0.06/52))^4 ? 1] gives $299,383.55 which is wrong in this case as it calculates interest weekly and compounds weekly.
So I need one that calculates interest daily (or weekly would work)
and compounds monthly.
